    About this property

This luxury lodge lies on the road to Newborough Forest, with views towards Snowdonia, the Lleyn Peninsula, and the sea. Renovated in 2018 to a lovely standard, Forest Lodge boasts exceptional features which add to the luxury feel of the interior. Bring along the family to spend some quality time together, making the most of everything this accommodation has to offer. In the lodge you will discover a well-appointed ground floor shower room featuring a walk-in shower. The stylish kitchen is complete with a neat selection of appliances, so those home cooked meals can be prepared at ease, with a large dining table to eat, entertain and enjoy each other’s company . The large dining area is filled with natural lighting from the windows which look out towards the garden, a lovely spot to relax with your loved ones as the sun sets. Cosy up in the lounge for a peaceful end to the day, home to a wood-burning fire, ideally placed to warm those cooler nights. You will be spoilt for choice between the four comfortable bedrooms; three out of the four comprise of a zip/link option, should you wish to change the king-size into a twin or vice-versa. The fourth bedroom has the ability to sleep either two or three, giving the flexibility to accommodate up to 9 people in the lodge. Three of the beautiful rooms lie on the first floor, with the addition of an immaculate 2nd bathroom, which boasts both a bath and a shower. Outside, the garden sweeps around 3 sides of the lodge with a decked patio area with pillars holding up a ship-style sail and festoon lighting. This area has luxury outdoor furniture and is perfect for sun-bathing and watching the sun set or rise! The property is on the road to Newborough Beach and Forest. The forest is maintained by the forestry commission and is a red squirrel sanctuary. There are picturesque walks through the forest down to the beach, in addition to other walking routes, cycle routes and nature trails. It is also possible to drive through the forest to the beach. Please note there is a toll for cars. The property is also within walking distance of the exceptional Marram Grass restaurant with head chef Ellis Barrie famed for his appearance on the BBC’s ‘The Great British Menu’ (booking in advance of your stay would be strongly advisable). Within walking distance are Newborough's famous giant stepping stones, which are great fun to walk across, tide permitting! Additionally the property offers easy access to the Anglesey coastal path. Close by is Llanddwyn Bay, renowned as one of the finest beaches in Britain, perfect for swimming, canoeing, beachcombing and bird watching or just relaxing amongst the natural landscape. There is no shortage of local family fun either. Anglesey Sea Zoo, Foel Farm, Anglesey Riding Centre, Halen Mon (Anglesey Sea Salt Company) and the beautiful Plas Newydd National Trust Property are all just a few minutes’ drive away. Nearby Aberffraw offers a very picturesque walk out along the estuary to meet the sea, as well as being home of the Anglesey racing track, another of the many attractions to be explored.

Newborough on Anglesey occupies a good position on the edge of forest and dunes, on the south west corner of Anglesey. Newborough has a shop and a pub, and is close to Llanddwyn Bay, with its famously fine beach. There is a protected Nature Reserve to the back of the beach, home to a whole host of wildlife. The rest of Anglesey’s attractions, including the Sea Zoo, model village and more, are within easy reach, as are the mountains of Snowdonia and the coast and castles of the Llyn Peninsula.

"We had a great holiday with no real complaints if I was to not pick a number of the glasses were cracked and there was no key for one of the bedroom windows but these were very minor points"

" To say that it even exceeded our expectations is no understatement. The location has amazing views that are both nice to wake up to and to sit and idly watch. The location on the edge of the Newborough Forest could not be more convenient for walks on the beach, near the dunes or in the forest itself. The cottage is well equipped and a really comfortable place to spend a week (or more!). I would particularly like to mention the owner, who was so helpful when we had to cancel our last booking at the cottage at the eleventh hour due to my wife's illness. Highly recommended. "

" Excellent customer service. Loved the lodge & the local area. Sam & Alison: owners of the local pub made us feel extremely welcome & the regulars in there. The neighbours were very friendly too. Lodge was clean, tidy & well presented. Enjoyed the welcome hamper - it didn't last long! Fantastic views. We will be back. "
    Mrs Rogers ‐ 1 Apr 2019
" Some of the windows e.g. main bathroom, have a large gap between the window the frame which let in the wind/rattled the doors - to be fair, it was incredibly windy when we were there - Storm Hannah! Some of the furniture is, literally, on its last legs, especially the dining chairs and the fittings/fixtures in general are slightly on the tatty side. Positives - nice layout in a great location with good views of the beach and Snowdonia in the distance. Living/dining rooms were a good size and comfortable, the log burner was a nice feature. Patio looked great although we didn't use it because of the bad weather. Bedrooms were of a decent size, the ground floor one would be good for those who struggle with stairs. Bathrooms were good with excellent showers. The 30 minute walk from the house, through the forest to the beach was lovely. the beach itself is wonderful. "

" Top quality beds and accommodation. We certainly appreciated all the plates & kitchen accessories. Fabulous location for the beach, cycling and running on the trails in Newborough Forest. "

" Stunning house inside and out with beautiful views from the back of the house. The house was very clean and beautiful decorated. Lots of little extras that were very helpful on arrival (tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, logs for the fire etc) The beds are very comfortable and the log fire was a perfect way to finish off any day. People in the Newborough village very friendly and helpful. Lots of lovely walks through the woods and down on the beach. Worth a visit to the little island at the end of the bay (blessed island). We had a fabulous time here, made lots of lovely memories and really didn't want to leave. "

"Last minute search for an extended family getaway and came across this little gem near newborough beach, and what a find it was. A stylish new yet comfortable cosy property with unbelievable views over the snowdonia range, perfect for any size group to relax. Walking distance to local town, newborough forest and of course a stunning beach. Great value for money and everything you need within a 1 mile radius. Definitely recommend this ‘home’ for the perfect escape."

"The place itself is lovely and has a fantastic view with a shop not too far away, the house itself comes with alot of the necessities for arrival such as tea, coffee and sugar, cleaning supplies, dishwasher tablets and washing tablets, they also provide a dog food bowl and water bowl and doggy do do bags which I think is a lovely touch. There is a washing machine which is really useful however there is no dryer within the facility and with it being in the UK the weather is not practical enough to only have the one machine as the clothes airer that they do provide takes an awful long time to dry clothes. The decking in the garden is a great place to sit if the weather is nice but it isn't child safe due to the drop onto the grass, for an adult it's not a huge of a drop but for a child it could be quite dangerous. The garden is partly sectioned off but could do with being fully enclosed especially for dogs and small children. The furniture is practical and modern but not necessarily comfortable for long periods of time. The house is spacious and toasty warm without the heating on and it is aesthetically pleasing, would recommend the lodge to anyone but there is a few factors that could do with taking into consideration for future families who wish to stay here."

"Wow! A lovely spot, accommodation just excellent. Modern, clean, comfy. Great location. As a multi generational family holidaying this place suited all ages. The quality of the lodge itself was just fantastic. shop a few minutes walk and great beach a short drive. The views from the garden are gorgeous. The little things, like a well stocked kitchen and high quality garden furniture, bedding and towels etc gave it a very luxury feel and surpassed many other places we’ve stayed. Would very much recommend and hope we can go back again!!"
