About this property

Relax and enjoy the tranquillity of this lovely holiday cottage situated in the most peaceful location. Rhyd y Bont Bach is part of the Bodior Estate on the west coast of Anglesey. It is just a short distance to the pretty beaches at Silver Bay and Rhoscolyn and the popular gastro pub, The White Eagle. From the holiday cottage you can walk down to the entrance of the Inland Sea, where you will find carpets of wild flowers, the velvety smell of gorse, and wonderful bird life.

The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge / freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and all the utensils you need to enjoy cooking.

The sitting/dining room is welcoming and a lovely place to relax with a high beamed ceiling, oak floors with rugs, dining table and chairs, comfortable sofas and chairs, and a TV with DVD player.

There are two downstairs bedrooms. One double bedroom with a brass bed and a twin with a shower room with large shower, wash hand basin and loo. There is a downstairs bathroom.

Upstairs there is a mezzanine sitting area with a sofa and coffee table. There is also a twin bedroom and en-suite bathroom with bath, separate shower, loo and wash hand basin.

Outside there is an enclosed garden with lawn to the front and side of the house and plenty of parking.

There is lots to do close by. Whether you like fishing, playing golf, or exploring this stunning coastline by boat or foot, there is something for everyone here. Rhoscolyn is noted for its clear waters and is great for snorkelers. Or you can visit the RSPB reserve and South Stack Lighthouse. This is not for the faint-hearted - there are over 400 steps down to the little bridge that takes you on the Stack, where there are breathtaking views and lots of birdlife.

Rhyd y Bont Bach has been carefully designed as a relaxing holiday home. Welsh slate and oak floors together with the beamed ceiling and cosy open fire set into a stone fireplace make this a splendid retreat for family and friends to enjoy.

This is a delightful holiday house in a peaceful setting.

Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, supermarkets, harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. Watersports, bathing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding are the main activities in the summer months, plus golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course, and the area is also a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse rspb Reserve. An excellent location with plenty to see and do!

The house was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. The garden is gorgeous and perfect for our dogs. We spent a good amount of time sitting out there, watching sea eagles! There are some lovely local walks - Borth Wen is a really nice beach and so is Silver Bay. The coastal path has breathtaking views, as you walk along the top. It was lovely to get back to the house after a day out - you knew you were going to be comfortable! Our only criticism would be the lack of cupboard space in the kitchen for food storage. Everything else was just brilliant.
