She told us about the local walks and left information about places to visit and places to eat. The property is most attractive and really tucked away. A wonderful place to get away from it all, so peaceful. We had a great time, despite the sometimes wet, windy and cool weather.

While this is not for everyone, it was perfect for us, as we wanted room to roam about with a private and quiet space. The garden areas are full of beautiful plants and fruit trees dotted about, with lots of native uk tree species (Hazel, rowan, beech etc) which was lovely to see. There is a woodland path access down to the beach which is steep going down and for the more advanced/mobile (or young) walker only as it is a very steep walk back. Then there is access to the coastal path from the property, but it is easy to complete bits of this on fairly flat ground in your own pace and without challenge. There is lots of garden to enjoy if you dont want to venture too far with secret bits to explore. There is lots of steps and slopes in and around the property and uneven ground outside, so as the owner has said wouldn't be suitable for folks with major mobility issues. It is quite rural and out of the way so single track road coming up and farm drive to get in. We are both from Wales so used to the roads, but they are fine so long as you mind the bends and are okay reversing if you need to (lots of tractors etc). There is a consistent and beautiful sea view wherever you go in and around the lodge and we enjoyed looking out both day and night to it. What you will find outside is visitors! In the daytime there are so many different species of bees, cool bugs, caterpillars and pollinators, birds both land and sea dwellers and in the evening we saw a fox and lots of baby toadlets, shrews, and heard lots of snuffling around :) so if you like wildlife and being around nature you will love this! The lodge is very accessible to all the areas of attraction, and it is very clean, warm and cosy with log burner and extra heating available. Facilities are basic, but you have everything you need to cook in the kitchen utensils wise. There is a convection oven/microwave and an induction hob which was fun to figure out (instructions provided), hadnt used one before. I enquired about a slow cooker before we arrived and one was supplied at our request which was fantastic (thank you Kathy) and i used it all week! The bathroom shower and wet room area is in need of some refurbishment, but knowing how well the property is kept, I'm quite sure it will be soon. There is a dining table and comfy furniture in the living area, even a rocking chair! Just as a side note, pretty much everyone in Mon is a first language Welsh speaker, so it is nice if you can use some Welsh greetings while you are visiting the holy island, everyone will be happy to talk to you in English but it is polite to do so. People have said (in other reviews) the locals can be rude towards non welsh speakers (like me), but I don't believe they are at all and neither did I witness that during our stay, quite the opposite but greetings go a long way! If you like fresh seafood like lobster and crab, then visit Finneys on Benllech it is amazing and they even cook your lobster

Luschious scenery, mountain views including the Snowdonian range. With many walks, Clif top views, lighthouses and sandy beaches; as far as you can see. Even the sea was warm. Small local villages to pick up essentials with Asda 20 mins or so away. We had a tremendous week at your beautiful cottage, set in the most tranquil gardens we have ever stayed in. (We have had many) We would describe the cottage as beautifully rustic in nature with some modern conveniences. Clean and Comfortable beds. Love the rocking chair. A short trip to the beach; but would recommend a few minutes in the car if you have mobility issues. We took our two cocker spaniels who have loved every second on the beaches and in the huge safe garden. If you are looking for peace & quiet this is the place to go. No noise or interference, fab! A fabulous 'hidden' retreat! Thank you, Margaret, for our lovely treats too. They were very much appreciated.
