About this property

Little Hawthorn is a converted 18th Century grain loft. The owners have shown great sympathy in reflecting its history, and care has been taken not to over restore. The eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary creates a comfortable yet interesting environment.

The small, modern kitchen has an electric cooker, a beautiful retro SMEG larder fridge with icebox, microwave and toaster. A unique dining table separates the kitchen from the sitting area, which has a wall mounted, flat screen TV. There is also a small log burner, perfect for adding extra glow and warmth during the autumn and winter months.

Open tread stairs lead up to the bright, comfy double bedroom with en-suite shower, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

The flagged courtyard, shared with the vintage store, has bistro table and chairs. The yard and outbuildings below are filled with vintage collectables and memorabilia which may prove hard to resist for any visitor! You can access a (shared) large, peaceful garden to the rear of the courtyard that has a garden bench for enjoying sunny days.

There is no private parking but there is an entrance to the rear garden from the public car park. The owner provides a parking permit so there will be no charge and the permit can be used elsewhere on the Island too.

The house is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

The apartment entrance is at the top of a flight of stone steps, close to cafes, restaurants, artisan traders as well as a Waitrose at the top of the hill. Menai Bridge town itself is steeped in history and within a short walk is the Menai Strait and Telford's suspension bridge.

This holiday apartment is a great base for exploring Anglesey, as well as Snowdonia and the Llŷn Peninsula, accommodating the needs of both the town and country enthusiast. It is indeed a little gem, a truly bohemian experience.

This delightful town sits right on the edge of the Isle of Anglesey and is home to one of two bridges to mainland Wales. It is an ideal base for a holiday and is great for exploring this beautiful island. It has a strong history which can be discovered in the Menai Bridge Heritage Museum, the well known Saint Tysilio lived on Church Island, just off of Anglesey in the 9th century, hence the name of the 14th century St. Tysilio's Church. Menai Bridge itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. In terms of entertainment, this is an ideal spot with something for everybody, there is the butterfly palace 'Pili Palas' which is incredibly popular with families, as well as the astounding Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens well worth a walk around. The Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance for you outdoor enthusiasts, it has wonderful walking, cycling and opportunities to see some beautiful sights. Nearer to the town, there are some incredible places including the popular towns of Beaumaris and Caernarfon with their majestic castles and much more to do.

Great base for visiting Anglesey, lovely pubs and restaurants in the town and beautiful walks. Would book hawthorn cottage again, was good to have parking permit for car park.

Great style in the apartment, interesting and unusual. Parking permit a huge plus. Found it a bit dusty and some areas needed a clean (bathroom bin, side of kitchen units etc). No info left on how to dispose of rubbish and recycling so had to leave these, sorry. Bed was super! I love a firm mattress so appreciated this. A hairdryer would have been handy plus a bit more loo roll but other than that a lovely place to stay, ideally situated.

The property is a small flat above a florist on the main road in Menai. Directions to the property are difficult to follow. The property has no information whosoever. We didn't even realise you could enter/exit from the main road when the shop was closed as it appeared to be part of the shop. Similarly, you have to enter/exit the property through the neighbours back garden and no information is included as to whether we had access to the garden or could use the garden. We had to hunt for the wifi password, found it eventually on the bottom of the router. TV kept loosing signal and after two days we discovered you could access Amazon, iplayer, Youtube, Netflix etc but again, no information or instruction. I've NEVER stayed at a self-catering cottage that didn't have very basic condiments (salt, vinegar, sugar) most usually have at least a few tea bags and a pint of milk. Ceilings are very low in the bathroom and bedroom. Cleanliness quite poor, not dirty but in need of a thorough clean. Faint smell of cat wee. Slug trails visible around kitchen area.
