About this property

Nestling above Beaumaris, on Anglesey, this lovely holiday cottage commands the most fantastic views across the Menai Strait to the gently rolling hills. From the front door you can see down to the pretty pastel houses of Beaumaris, and its church and castle.

With a quarry tiled floor and subtle lighting, the long galley kitchen is very well equipped. It has a gas hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and fridge with ice box. French doors open onto the terrace which is a lovely spot to enjoy a glass of wine.

From the kitchen, a step leads up to a cosy sitting room with comfy sofas and chairs and a wood burning stove set into a raised fireplace. Logs are available to purchase locally. There is a television with freeview.

The dining room has a lovely large pine table and chairs.

On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with a beautiful view. There is also a shower room and loo. Upstairs is a twin room with a cot and a second bathroom. Relax in your bath as you enjoy the views out towards the hills - bliss!

Outside there is a terrace and garden furniture.

Beaumaris, which is a short walk along the sea front, is full of things to see and do. You can visit the Gaol, Court Room and castle, and for the younger members of the party, there's excellent crabbing and fun boat trips to be enjoyed. Beaumaris has a choice of restaurants to suit all pockets, offering food that ranges from gourmet to traditional and simple. A short drive will bring you to Plas Cadnant Gardens, Plas Newydd and the Anglesey Sea Zoo.

Rallt Goch Bach is a traditional cottage which has all the home comforts you will need whilst on holiday.

Please note that the wooden stairs to the upstairs twin and bathroom are narrow and quite steep.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
