Enjoying a superb location within the Lake District National Park near the owner’s property, and with easy access to the local amenities, The Sheiling is a fantastic dwelling for a couple looking for a relaxing getaway to the Lakes. Be welcomed into the open-plan living space, where you can look forward to rustling up mouth-watering meals your loved one in the well-equipped kitchen, with the help of the electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and a handy dishwasher so time isn’t wasted doing chores! Settle down at the intimate dining table for two to savour a delicious meal, as the wine is poured, and plans are made for the days ahead. Take advantage of warmer weather and make dinner an alfresco affair, by firing up the barbecue and enjoying dinner with a view in the enclosed garden. As the evening grows darker, retreat to the sitting room where you can curl up in front of your favourite series on the TV. Pour in the bubbles and indulge in a soothing soak in the bath, paired with your favourite book, or revel in a relaxing rinse in the shower, before climbing into the sumptuous king-size bed to catch your rest ahead of a day of adventures. Head into the town centre, where you will be spoilt for choice for things to see and do, including a fantastic selection of pubs, restaurants, and cafés for when you fancy a night off from the kitchen. Delve into history at the fascinating Keswick Museum and the Derwent Pencil Museum, or if that isn’t your thing, why not marvel at the optical illusions and artwork on offer in Puzzling Place? Outdoor enthusiasts are well-catered for with the Keswick Adventure nearby, which offers excellent excursions including canyoning, ghyll scrambling and paddle boarding. For a memorable date night, why not whisk your loved one to the unique setting of the Theatre by The Lake, where you can enjoy a live performance followed by a drink in the bar. If you cannot get enough of the outdoors, Derwent Water rests nearby and offers a wealth of watersports, including canoeing, kayaking and windsurfing. Venture into the lake's centre to discover the National Trust site of Derwent Island and House, a marvellous 18th-century Grade II listed property. Your fabulous location means that you have access to a wide variety of scenic walks and cycling trails, including the Bassenthwaite Lake National Nature Reserve, as well as the peaks of Skiddaw and Watch Hill for those feeling a little more adventurous. There is also the Lake District Wildlife Park nearby, home to over 100 species of exotic animals. However you choose to spend your time in the Lakes, choose The Sheiling as your base.

Keswick, the popular tourist destination in the north of the Lake District, has something to offer visitors at any time of year. The town offers a variety of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and excellent mountain biking opportunities, while the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre.
