Gather at the dining table for a hearty breakfast whilst planning the day's events, or use this as a quiet space for some reading. The kitchen itself has glossy cream units and sleek wooden worktops housing all the necessary appliances for cooking, whilst still retaining some of its character with exposed brick tiles as feature walls. The charm continues in the ground-floor shower room with its feature slate walls, paying homage to the cottage's miner history. As the evening draws to a close, retire to the king-size bedroom which comes with all the furniture needed for storing your personal belongings and matching bedside tables and lamps for some late night reading, its velux windows showcasing the wide, expansive countryside surroundings, the perfect idyllic setting to wake up to each morning. There is a small enclosed gravelled area to the rear which has plenty of seating so you can enjoy the fresh country air with a refreshing beverage or dine alfresco. Kellocks Cottage is in the highest village in Scotland, home to a delightful pub called Wanlockhead Inn, whilst the nearest convenience store can be found in Leadhills for all the essentials, as well as even more pubs to choose from and the wonderful attractions of Britain's highest golf course, facilities for fly fishing. With gold panning in the burns, the village of Wanlockhead is home to the annual Scottish and British Gold Panning Championships - gold panning has been a popular activity for visitors in this area, as large nuggets of gold have been found by some very shocked gold panning enthusiasts to date! If you're looking for places to shop, visit the towns of Biggar and Moffat, as well as Dumfries, or for a spot of history Drumlanrig Castle and County Estate is perfect for those outdoor enthusiasts to get involved with walking, cycling and fishing. Leadhills is a wonderful village resting in Scotland. A former mining village sitting at over 1200ft, it boasts plenty of history awaiting to be discovered, as well as it now being a conservation area! The village is home to both a shop and a scatter of pubs, with the attractions of the Leadhills and Wanlockhead Railway, Britain's highest golf course and opportunities for fly fishing all being worth exploring. The neighbouring village of Wanlockhead boasts the annual Scottish and British Gold Panning Championships, while Biggar, Moffat, and even Glasgow and Edinburgh can be reached via a scenic car journey.

Note: 2 well behaved dogs welcome ( secure outdoor space outside the rear of the cottage) dogs need to be on their leads when in the village due to the sheep.
