Snaptrip says

Rose Cottage receives high praise for its peaceful location, cosy atmosphere, and welcoming touches. Guests appreciate the well-kept gardens, the warmth of the coal fire, and the friendly hosts. While some minor suggestions for improvements are noted, the overall sentiment is one of satisfaction and a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, one review mentioned poor cleanliness, which slightly impacts the overall high standard perceived by others.

The location is consistently described as beautiful, peaceful, and ideal for exploring the Scottish Borders. The dark skies for stargazing and proximity to local attractions are particularly appreciated.

Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with a homely feel and a warm fire. Some guests mentioned the beds being comfortable, although one found the double bed a bit soft.

The cottage is well-equipped for a pleasant stay, but some guests suggested improvements such as adding a second lamp, kindling for the fire, and a hand towel in the kitchen. The lack of a shower and issues with heating and windows were also noted.

Many guests were delighted by the thoughtful touches like a welcome bottle of wine, milk, and biscuits. While these gifts greatly enhanced their experience, it's important to note that such gestures, though common, are not guaranteed.

Don’t expect “boutique“ facilities and levels of comfort. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The location is good for seeing the Borders and especially walking. The property will be most comfortable out of winter, as the heating relies on a back boiler from the coal fire in the living room. In winter you’d need the fire on all the time. As the coal fire is essential, I think it’s undesirable that coal is not fully included and priced into the chart. You are given a starter pack and then have to request/buy more as you need it.

The host was helpful with the the little things as well.

Unable to get refund because Skyes said we should have stayed and resolved it, but it's clear from the owners response (that they'd cleaned at midday that day) that they didn't understand the standard to which a property should be cleaned. We have multiple photos and videos of the state of the house, with walls draped in dust-filled cobwebs. Shocking. Won't use sykes again, such a shame after many years of satisfactory stays at other properties.
