About this property

One of three traditional farm cottages set on a family run working farm, surrounded by wildlife and scenery. The cosy cottage with open fire sleeps 4 and is an ideal base for exploring South of Scotland and Northumberland.

The

cottages lie between the River Tweed and the Eden Water – a real haven for

wildlife and birds. Just two miles

downstream from the delightful town of Kelso, it is a great position for

exploring the Scottish Borders, South of Scotland and Northumberland. Kelso is regarded as one of the most

picturesque towns in Scotland and Sir Walter Scott certainly thought so proclaiming

it was “the most beautiful, if not the most romantic town in Scotland!” Edinburgh and Alnwick are only an hour away

and the beautiful Berwickshire and Northumberland coast, rolling Border hills

and charming Border towns, are all within easy reach along quiet country roads.

Set

on a family run working farm, the cottages stand in peaceful spots at the end

of their own lanes.

The views stretch

for miles westerly to the Eildon Hills by Melrose, north to the foothills of

the Lammermuirs and south over the Tweed Valley to the Cheviot Hills in the

Northumberland National Park. The

cottages provide a peaceful spot to holiday in whether you are looking for a traditional

or contemporary retreat. There is an

abundance of wildlife around the farm, including otters by the waterside, deer

wandering around the woods and the silver flash of salmon in the Tweed. The flock of Grey Face ewes and small herd of

cows all play an important part in the everyday life at Hendersyde and all have

names, many enjoy a scratch behind their ear!
