About this property

A beautiful barn conversion nestled on Newburgh Farm Steading in Selkirk. With the spectacular Scottish hillside as a backdrop, The Byres provides a spacious and luxurious interior with six comfortable bedrooms and four lovely bathrooms. The ground floor twin room is ideal for those with limited mobility as there is wheelchair access via the ramp from the sizeable hallway out to the shared courtyard. The dining room attractively overlooks the outdoor space and the kitchen presents opulent features with a modern sitting area for the chef to relax in while the evening meal simmers away. After dinner, stroll through to the sitting room for some billiard sports or simply slump into the plush sofa and unwind into the evening. The big arched windows overlook the courtyard, streaming in copious amounts of light into the property and the patio doors open onto the garden where you can sit out and delight in fantastic views across the valley. Note: Property can be booked with Ref. 954588, together they sleep 28 people.

Selkirk stands on a hillside overlooking the River Ettrick. One of the oldest Royal Burghs and one of the earliest settlements in what is now the Scottish Borders, Selkirk has many attractions to offer visitors. Apart from the scenery that surrounds the town, there is much to suit both energetic and less energetic visitors. Fishing is well catered for, being so close to the Tweed, and cycling in the renowned Glentress Forest, which is only a short drive away. The valleys of Ettrick and Yarrow provide a backdrop to a day’s walking and there are plenty of routes that can be followed. Explore the Sir Walter Scott connections with the town, visit Halliwells’ House and museum, one of the oldest dwellings in the town, or the Bowhill Estate.
