Wildlife lovers must visit the Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Reserve for the chance to see ospreys, red squirrels and many more of the beautiful animals that reside here. Golfers are well served by the array of superb golfing opportunities in Perthshire, and a trip to the awe-inspiring Cairngorms National Park is a must, offering spectacular scenery and activities in sun and snow alike. The town is overlooked by hills and mountains, making this region superb walking, riding and cycling country. Golfers are very well catered for with many courses in the area including Rosemount and St Andrews and Gleneagles all within easy reach. Glamis Castle has a long history, and is said to be the most haunted castle in Scotland as well as the setting for Shakespeare's Macbeth. The Beech hedge at Meikleour was planted in 1745 and is the highest in the world. With so much on offer, this is a great year round holiday destination for the whole family.
