A step up from this room is the stunning sun room which offers uninterrupted views out to sea and is a quiet place for relaxation and reflection, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine while watching a summer sunset. If you are lucky, you might even see a pod of dolphins passing. There is also a smart sitting room with open fire and a shower room completes the ground floor accommodation. The upper floor has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom both benefiting from sea views along with a family bathroom. For adults and children this coastline is fabulous with rocky cliffs, golden sandy beaches and pretty villages and the nearby village of Cullen with enhanced facilities can actually be accessed via a coastal walk of about a mile. A holiday in this area means that so much is accessible and both the cities of Aberdeen and Inverness can be visited making great days out. The coastal village of Portknockie is situated on a cliff-top overlooking a natural harbour on the Moray Firth coast. Explore the cliff-tops, beaches and coves, or look out for dolphins, seals and sea birds. Nearby is the delightful town of Cullen and within driving distance is Elgin with its cathedral.

    Facilities the best with everything you needed. The only negative was we didn't get a starter pack of logs and the microwave needs replacing, but didn't spoil what was a holiday to remember.

    The cottage was very warm, clean, spacious and so well kitted out. The photos do not do it justice. We enjoyed walks along the beautiful coast on sunny days and drives to Inverness and many pretty coastal villages when it was not so dry! Fort George was very interesting and from here we got a glimpse of some dolphins. To top it all we managed to get pictures of the aurora. A great place to visit.

    The linkage on the plug, in the bathroom, had come apart. If I had a screw driver I could have put it back together.
