Fisher’s Cottage is an original fisherman’s cottage, situated in the heart of the charming seaside village of Balintore. This traditional single-storey, stone cottage is set along a quiet lane, just a few yards from a stunning sandy beach and pretty harbour. Beautifully presented throughout, the bright, modern living room/dining room has a pretty cottage suite and colour-coordinated soft furnishings. The kitchen is at the rear of the cottage and is equipped with modern built-in units. The back door opens onto the attractive gardens, with lawns, mature shrubs and outdoor dining furniture. There is a large kingsize bedroom which has been thoughtfully furnished, as well as a single bedroom. The cottage also has a good-sized family bathroom complete with shower over bath.
Balintore is one of several traditional seaside villages that hug the shoreline of this lovely Highland coast. A short stroll leads down to the pretty fishing harbour and the lovely sandy beaches of Balintore, Shandwick and Hilton. The coastline is completely unspoilt and provides an idyllic seaside holiday, away from the crowds. There are a range of amenities close by, including a village store/post office, pub and restaurant all within easy walking distance. The area is renowned for its wildlife - dolphins and porpoises can be regularly seen in many of the surrounding bays, and you will also find a myriad of sea birds in the area. Local activities include fishing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, cycling and hill-walking. Golfers are spoilt for choice, with many local golf courses in the region for you to try your hand at, the nearest being Tain, as well as the championship courses of Dornoch and Brora, both just a short drive away.
Within a 10-minute drive lies the oldest Royal Burgh of Scotland, Tain. Built predominantly of local mellow sandstone, this charming and historic town offers an excellent selection of small shops, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés and pubs. This part of the Highlands is easily accessible for exploring the whole of the north. Nearby places of interest include a variety of whisky distillery centres, one of which is home to Glenmorangie single malt, the Falls of Shin where salmon can be seen leaping, and the enchanting town of Dornoch, with its majestic cathedral, sandy beach and championship golf course. Fisher’s Cottage is also just a 35-minute drive from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Beach 500 yards. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 800 yards.

"This is a little gem of a cottage, a real find! Superbly well equipped with the most comfortable king-sized bed and everything you could possibly need (except a pair of kitchen scissors!! ha ha)A couple of minutes walk to a beautifully clean, sandy beach that we walked along for miles without meeting anyone. Very friendly and welcoming community , but one that will also respect your privacy. Dogs of an inquisitive nature will need supervising in the garden which, although fully-enclosed, only has a low wall on one side with the ground also sloping up under the large tree making for an easy escape route!Only a 10-15 minutes drive to Tain which has large supermarkets, just off the A9.Stunning scenery and plenty of forest walks within easy reach, all of which are breathtakingly beautiful. One week was simply not long enough; I could happily have lived there forever! Just WOW!!"

"Had a great week in Fisher's Cottage. Ideal base for days out in the area and comfortable to return to in the evening. The cottage was very clean and provided all the equipment needed to enjoy the time spent inside. Only slight issue was the heating timings needed reset as the lounge for example cut out at 2100 - a bit early. In fairness there was an electric fire but the mechanism was very noisy and needs attention. This was a minor issue and did not spoil our enjoyment and we would certainly return and indeed recommend to others. Thank you"

"Really enjoyed our stay at Fisher's Cottage, it is an excellent base for exploring all that the North East of Scotland has to offer."

"This cottage was just what we wanted, apart from the fact that there was only one bedroom out of two which was cleaned and the bed made up. It was advertised as a two bedroom cottage and that was why we booked it. There was no spare bedding to use and no contact number for a cleaner or someone who could bring the bedding. I used the throws that I had brought to protect furniture in case my dog jumped up.There was a blocked grid outside the back door, so after rain we had to wade through 3 inches of water to get into the garden. We were unable to lock the front door at night, because the key would not turn on the inside."

"We appreciated the thought that had been put into the tasteful refurbishment and kitting out of the cottage. It was very clean, comfortable and close to both local amenities and the harbour and the beach. The owner and local agents had made every effort to ensure that holiday maker like ourelvess would have an enjoyable stay,Footnote (Not for publication) is that we live on a farm and our dog has been trained to bark when strangers appear. As the cottage is right on the street with quite a busy local pedestrian traffic passing the living room and main bedroom we were concerned that his barking would disturb the neighbours. That is not the fault of the owner of course but it would prevent us from booking the cottage again. That shouldn't be a concern for other couples however."

"The cottage was perfect for our needs as there was just the two of us and the dog. It was warm and welcoming. The kitchen was well equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable. Would certainly recommend Fishers Cottage to friends and family."

"We had a very pleasant and relaxing week at Fisher's Cottage in Balintore. The house is a short walk from a beautiful beach and a well stocked and friendly Spar. The Balintore Inn serves excellent food, we ate there on the Saturday we arrived and it was close enough to walk to. The cottage is very well equipped just like a home from home and everything was very clean and tidy. The beds were most comfortable and we enjoyed the electric blanket on the king bed with the superior bed linen and soft towels. There was a welcome pack of bread, butter and milk waiting for us on arrival and the cottage was warm. We draped washing over the airer to thoroughly dry beside the electric heaters after being hung outside in the fresh air. The shower is electric and the water is hot, what more could you ask for. Oh, and there is super fast Wifi, Sky tv or Netflix would have been a bonus. Loved the area with lots of beach and forest walks in the region and our two curly dogs loved it also."
