About this property

A detached timber chalet in an elevated position overlooking the spa village of Strathpeffer. Cosy accommodation, superb alternative to the usual Scotland cottages. Note: This cottage is next to Ref. 3558 and together they accommodate 9. EPC Rating: Band E

The lovely little spa town of Strathpeffer grew up after the discovery of exceptionally pure springs in the 18th Century. The waters were declared the healthiest in Britain in 1819 and the town burgeoned from there. The pavilion has been restored and is now used as a venue for events including concerts, dramas and live theatre. The former railway station was built in the Victorian times and it now serves as home to The Highland Museum of Childhood and craft workshops. Holiday makers can still sample the water in the old pump house, which is also a Tourist Information point. There are lovely walks to explore nearby and Strathpeffer is super base for a holiday as it is close to many attractions and only 20 miles from the thriving city of Inverness.

Even when -8c outside, it is very toasty inside. I drive an MG4 EV and we had no trouble driving up the roads to the chalet. It is well-equipped and with stunning views over the valley from the balcony.

Good location to explore this part of Scotland. Owners very friendly and are on hand should you need anything. Larchfield Chalets are marked on Google Earth, I used this to pin point them on my sat nav as the post code may get you lost

It was warm (as we were there in Autumn). Incredibly well equipped to be able to prepare meals, towels, hand wash etc. The welcome gifts were really nice. Nice lot of games, books and DVDs for all the family. Alan was so lovely to chat to and although we didn't meet Sandra the care she puts into keeping the cottage in such good condition shows. What 3 words we saw on the website were wrong. They were: strutted.answer.bets The sign for Bottacks had fallen down on the way to the property in the storm so we missed the turning. Alan rescued us and he knew exactly where we had ended up. The views from the property were incredible. It did the world of good for our emotional well-being. We hope to be back soon and stay for longer!! Alan and Sandra have set the bar very high for holiday cottages
