Not only did they go out of their way to make me welcome but my friend who was staying with me - they looked after him while I was at work and took him bird watching and for various walks as well as collecting him from Thurso as he was stranded there due to my taking the car to my work. Great place, so comfortable and will book again without a moments doubt. Highly recommended - GOLD STAR. ,

It has night storage heating, which kept the place nice and warm, ( not that we needed it due to amazing weather ). It has a large bedroom, a small kitchen, a decent sized bathroom, and a good sized living room area, there is ample parking outside in the car park that is shared with the main house, who Tim and is wife occupy, Tim greeted us when we arrived, and showed us what was what. Do not follow your Sat Nav as you will end up along a farm track in the middle of nowhere

As others have said the property is bigger than expected and more than enough for my needs and is located a few miles south of Thurso which is on the NC500. The owners Tim and Su welcomed me along with their dog Ruby and were able to offers some advice and tips on photography locations that would only be known to locals, unfortunately the Northern Lights didn't make an appearance though, maybe next time! Would I recommend this cottage, absolutely! Would I rent it again, unlikely but only because I rarely visit the same place twice, my next trip to Scotland will be to the Northwest coast and whilst the distance from this cottage isn't great due to the windy nature of the roads and the number of stops to admire the views the time taken travelling would be too great. Thank you Su and Tim (and Ruby) for the warm welcome and best wishes for the festive season and into 2022. Phil
