    Scotland's oldest university town, St Andrews offers a range of architecture and a variety of shops and restaurants. There is the famous St Andrews Golf Course, as well as an interesting Golf Museum. To the south is a region of fishing villages called the East Neuk, while Fife, Dundee, Perth and Edinburgh can all be reached.

    " Although owner advised us he wasn’t able to cut the grass in the lovely enclosed back garden it could do with cutting back on bushes and trees especially round about the back door! Wouldn’t put us off returning "

    " Andrews. The house was generally in good condition, the kitchen was well equipped with a modern oven/hob, there was a washing machine, dish washer, fridge freezer,microwave and plenty of cookware. There was a small problem with waste bins, they were full and overflowing on arrival. Understandably the council uplift day was Tuesday, (1st Jan), so the bin men would be sleeping it off. The central heating system was very good and the house was comfortably warm during our stay. We were a party of six. The bedrooms were very nice with plenty of bed linen. The bottom floor back bedroom had two single beds and unfortunately one of them had an uncomfortable mattress which should be replaced. In conclusion 23 Market Street is a very comfortable house and we would recommend it to anyone contemplating a holiday in the auld toon. "

    " The accommodation was really good, especially the upstairs lounge with the soft leather couches and large TV. The time of year we went (3 nights 20th to 23rd Nov) was excellent value for money. Having the welcome pack of coffee, milk came in handy. Everything was as expected, I would suggest putting a shower curtain or shower screen in the ensuite bathroom upstairs. There is a shower hose in the bath within the ensuite but it is more practical to have it attached to wall so can stand up and have a normal shower, rather than having to sit in the bath and use shower hose. "

    "This bathroom could also really do with having a stand up shower in it. It wasn’tfab in the night to have to go through another bed room and I would have like to have known before hand. But... the sitting room is magnificent - simply glorious and the kitchen incredibly well supplied. The owner is delightful and couldn’t have been more helpful. I was pleased to have stayed there! ----------------------- OWNERS REPLY Thank you for your feedback. It's really helpful to get constructive criticism as we start out on our new venture at 23. I take your point about lack of clarity around the bathroom situation so we will come up with new wording to describe the layout, rather than merely referring to it as an ensuite. Your suggestion about installing a shower in the ensuite bathroom is taken on board also. We will gauge feedback to see if, like you, guests prefer two stand up showers, rather than the shower and bath/shower arrangement currently on place. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay"

    "Just like being at home. The location is very good. This may seem silly, but the bed pillows are thick and comfy. It has a well equipped kitchen and a beautiful garden out back. We enjoyed the cozy gas fire upstairs. The hosts were very accommodating and responded to our questions very quickly. I would highly recommend staying in this cottage."
