    About this property

A charming first floor apartment within a converted school, located in the quaint coastal village of Culross with views to National Trust palace and river from the living room.
From the front door of this delightful, first floor apartment, you can spend time exploring the picturesque coastal village of Culross, with its cobbled streets and lanes, painted houses and red pan tiled roofs dating back to medieval times. Visit Culross Palace and Gardens and Culross Abbey, or step back in time and stroll up Back Causeway, a cobbled alleyway which has a raised central aisle that was used by noblemen to separate them from the ’commoners’.
Wandering around Culross gives you a unique opportunity to walk through history and experience what 17th and 18th-century towns in Scotland would of looked like at the time. As such, the town has been used for film locations including ’The Little Vampire, ’A Dying Breed’, ’The 39 Steps’ and ’Captain America: The First Avenger’. More recently, it has been used in the mystical and spellbinding TV saga ’Outlander’, where the town was transformed into the fictional village of Cranesmuir where Geillis lives. If you would like to follow in the footsteps of the characters from Outlander, then there are many of the other locations within driving distance, including Blackness Castle, Linlithgow Palace and Hopetoun House.
For walker and cyclists, the Fife Coastal Path passes through the village taking you along the shore to nature reserves and pretty villages. Only 30 minutes drive away is Stirling and Edinburgh Airport, where you can use the park and ride for easy access to the city centre. Beach 3 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

"We had a wonderful stay at S79382! The flat was spacious, the beds were comfy and the house was cozy and quiet. Lovely views of the Forth and village, nice and bright during the day. Plenty of towels were provided and even some basic food provisions. No need to bring any cleaning products or toilet roll, all was clean anyway and there were cleaning products under the sink."

"Great location of holiday flat. Good sized accommodation with all the mod cons you need. Shower is very temperamental. Bath instead. Will definitely visit again"

"lovely stay. suited our every need. the unexpected extras of essentials was excellent and made up for the lack of shop in the village and fresh flowers were lovely and added to the experience. I would be happy to recommend this cottage and would gladly stay again"

"We had a wonderful stay in S79382. After a warm reception (including a very generous welcoming pack) we were able to take in the beauty of Culross and surrounding area which are both steeped in history. We definitely recommend this cottage to other holidaymakers and look forward to coming back soon!"

"Well, we have stayed in dozens of holiday let's in UK and abroad, are we are a picky bunch for detail, yes first glance it was quent and tidy, but closer inspection, we found things that didn't match the four star rating, lovely setting and cottage, but in need of slight upgrading and a deep clean,Beds had no headboards, double mattress springs dug into my back, not enough hangers in wardrope, tartan blankets had dog hairs on them sink in bathroom was insecure, toilet was loose, shower was not powerful enough, the bath had scratches from dogs been cleaned in bath, bath mat had dog hairs underneath, could of done with a extractor fan, every light fitting in flat had loads of cobwebs, all cushions had dog hairs on it, as well as carpets and rug, sadly Im allergic to dogs, the kitchen tap constantly dripped and leaked, the frying pans were not clean, quite cheap and disgusting, coffee machine didn't work properly, cooker was not very good had to use matches, which is not safe.It was a shame, if it was upgraded and faults fixed, I would return,"
