The outside of nith cottage could do with a bit of attention the gutter was leaking rather badly in a couple of places the garden was a bit wild . But internally the cottage was warm and comfortable the kitchen is in need of some love and attention a shortage of equipment measuring jug sieve and utensils

The cottage is spacious, big family dining kitchen, large bathroom and en-suite wet room. Lounge area had wood burning stove. The cottage is owned by the Lochside House Hotel. When we arrived, we collected our keys from there. The house was cold as it was early evening and getting dark. There was no wood for the fire so we called the hotel reception and they told us there was no wood available and they would send some round first thing in the morning. No-one arrived, so we called again to be told it would be with us soon - it still didn't arrive. Called a 3rd time to be told that wood would be dropped off around 5pm that they were really busy. Eventually, a van turned up with the wood, which only lasted us one day. We were only staying for 4 days so we didn't bother with the hassle of having to ask for more wood. The cottage was lovely, the utility room was lovely and warm and great for drying washing. The only negative I have about the kitchen was they only provided one dishtowel, there were no cleaning products as such to clean the kitchen before we left. We would have welcomed more in the way of things like cleaning spray, rubber gloves, cleaning cloths, bin bags, dishtowels. Something to take with you if you are booking.

Nice place but some annoying issues such as a very limited amount of cooking equipment to use on the massive cooker and a fridge door that refused to stay shut.
