Explore the coast by land and sea with a sea-angling boat trip or a coastal walk or cycle ride. A lovely coastal apartment offering a relaxing break at any time of the year.
Although it is no longer an island, the village of Isle of Whithorn still retains the name as a link to its historic past. The village lies by the harbour on the southern tip of the Machars Peninsula, and the area has been designated as an outstanding conservation area. The village has a rich history, and trading from the port dates back to Viking times and there are the remains of a 13th Century chapel at the end of the harbour. This region is steeped in ancient and modern history and there are countless sites of historical interest to visit, from Iron Age and Mesolithic Forts to standing stones. This area is a fascinating region and makes a great base for a family holiday.

The games, books, and maps and local information available inside the lobby door were a bonus too, and helped us make the most of the area during a short visit. We definitely hope to return.

Very good pub next door

Accommodation was spotlessly clean. Coffee, tea, milk and biscuits on arrival are a lovely thought. DVD's, books, jigsaws and tourist information in the foyer made a lovely addition. Property owner was really helpful and very friendly. The whole experience was simply superb.
