Colvend 2 miles. A cosy, detached wooden lodge, Heron lodge is located at Barend holiday park, close to Colvend on Scotland's picturesque Solway Coast. This quaint holiday lodge sleeps up to five people and is an ideal location for a family break in Scotland. Downstairs there is one single bedroom and a family bathroom, with a bath, shower and toilet. Head on through the hall and you will find an open plan living area with a sitting room, dining area and a compact galley-style kitchen. There are plenty of books to enjoy in the sitting room, plus a TV and DVD player. Up the wooden stairs you'll find a super twin room under the wooden eaves, that feels very alpine-like and benefits from another TV, DVD player and Xbox. There is also a comfortable double room. On the ground floor, a door leads out from the sitting room and dining area onto the outdoor balcony, where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, or relax in the evening with a glass of wine with views over Colvend golf course. Located only a quarter of a mile inland from the beach at Sandyhills, the area provides plenty of opportunities to walk or cycle and enjoy the natural environment. Keep an eye out for wildlife and deer! The village of Colvend is two miles away and has a well-stocked shop and a seasonal restaurant. If you love the beach, do visit Rockcliffe, which is a short drive away. An ideal wooden lodge on the Solway Coast, perfect for a relaxing holiday.

The village of Colvend boasts a shop, a mobile Post Office and a season restaurant, as well as a pottery shop nearby. This area of coastline has many rugged cliffs and secret bays and there are a number of footpaths to be explored. Cyclists have easy access to most of the 7stanes mountain bike complex, and the renowned Galloway Dark Sky Forest Park is a short drive away. Rockcliffe and Sandyhills beaches provide an enjoyable family day out.
