On the edge of the town, just a short walk from the apartment are wonderful woodland trails for walking and also the trail head of the local section of the 7Stanes Mountain Bike Network.The Solway coast with its wonderful sandy beaches, the village of Rockcliffe with its beach and coastal footpath and the village of Kippford with sailing on the Urr estuary are all within a short drive. There are a number of golf courses within easy reach including the 18 hole championship links course at Southerness. There are wildfowl refuges on the nearby coast and great opportunities for the naturalist throughout the area. Fishing (game, coarse and sea) are all available locally.
