Luxury contemporary holiday cottage which has been formed from a 1700's Galloway cow shed. The Byre makes a super holiday base in a quiet location on the edge of the historic town of St John’s Town of Dalry with easy access to local facilities and the many varied out door pursuits available in the area including water sports on Loch Ken, The Galloway Forest Park for Star Gazing/Mountain biking/Walking, The Southern Upland Way long distance path is on the doorstep not to mention all the historical attractions including Robert Burns Trail and Dumfries House which has been restored with support from Prince Charles.

The Byre is adjacent to the owner’s house, Grayrigg and is a convenient 2 minute walk to the local pub "The Clachan" which serves great local food. The town also has a local shop, hairdresser and a garage. The shared garden is beautifully laid out with flower borders, lawns and shrubs giving colour all year round, it provides plenty seating space to enjoy the colours and scents, while superb views can be taken in from the Rose Bench to the front of the main house. A large Orchard garden is also available for exercising pets.

Short breaks are welcome but full weeks give time to enjoy all that the area offers with the great variety of Historical and Cultural sites, wildlife watching opportunities including the Red Kite Trail and not to mention the beaches of the Solway coast are within easy reach, as are those on the Ayrshire coast. Come to the Byre and you will be spoilt for choice for holiday activities.
