Set within the charming grounds of a former fourteenth century nunnery, this exceptional house commands a unique position with stunning, panoramic views over Dhoon Bay, the Dee estuary and out to sea. The adjacent, child-friendly, sandy beach and rocky foreshore make this an ideal location for a relaxing holiday. The rocky coastline gives every opportunity for fishing and exploring the pools left by the tide. The house is surrounded by its own large garden, and the cottage is behind and to one side of the house giving each sufficient privacy. Four miles away is the fascinating historic harbour town of Kirkcudbright. This former artists' colony, now known as the 'Artists' Town', provides a variety of recreational activities including an 18 hole golf course, tennis, fishing, indoor swimming pool and its extensive Summer Festivities programme. Kirkcudbright has a variety of hotels, pubs, cafes & restaurants for dining out. Places of interest worth a visit include Broughton House in Kirkcudbright; for the younger generation Cream o'Galloway and the Cocoa Bean Factory will keep them entertained, whilst those looking for more active pursuits will enjoy a visit to Laggan Outdoor and Galloway Activity Centre; Mountain Bike trails are a short drive away at Kirroughtree and Dalbeattie, part of the Forestry commissions 7 stanes Mountain Bike Trails, and for the stargazers, opportunities abound with the Galloway Forest Park (Britain's First Dark Skies Park) nearby.
