Portsonachan Lodge offering accommodation over one level has a pretty woodland setting overlooking Loch Awe and whilst in a perfect beautiful unspoilt area is within easy reach of popular towns such as Inveraray,  Oban and Fort William.

Scotland is steeped in history and Argyll is a prime example providing numerous places of interest plus also a surprisingly mild climate which makes it a wonderful area in Spring and early Summer with superb displays of Rhododendrons and Azaleas and throughout the rest of the year the woodland and forest walks through "big tree plantations" ensure that this is an area that you will enjoy visiting time and time again.  

Portsonachan is perfectly placed for day trips to Oban, the "Gateway to the Isles", so if you wish you can not only explore this historic town but also take a day trip to one of the small islands.  Inveraray with its long history as a Port and famous jail is no more than a twenty minute drive whilst a short way to the south is Kilmartin Glen which is a fascinating area with the highest concentration of prehistoric rock art in Europe which can be enjoyed either by following the local roads or the numerous footpaths.

Very close to the lodge is the Porrsonachan Hotel which has a superb outdoor patio area so that you can enjoy a meal and a drink whilst watching the views over Loch Awe.   The hotel also provides boats and fishing tackle for fishing on the loch.   The loch also provides a superb setting from which to watch ospreys, sea eagles and even golden eagles whilst the local woodland and forest paths provide superb opportunities for seeing other wildlife as well.

The lodge makes a superb base for either short breaks or longer holidays which can be enjoyed by small groups or larger family parties.
