"On the whole the cottage is great, just a few small things that need replacing, to make it outstanding."

    "Very comfortable, ideal location."

"Quite old-fashioned but cosy cottage in a lovely surrounding with direct access to the Clyde, but without bridge in the garden! The hosts are very friendly and have a gorgeos English Springer Spaniel with which my children Lobes to play..."

"The cottage has a lovely outlook across to the Clyde. It is very peaceful adjacent to the main house which had a large garden. It has the potential to be a great holiday home. Unfortunately it is a bit worn and dated. Appliances are fine. The entrance area is not very clean which gives a poor initial impression The beds are uncomfortable with the exception of one single bed. We were quite disappointed."

"Very convenient location and wonderful views. Quiet, warm, and mostly comfortable. Two TVs provided that were tiny with tinny sound and as usual, the living room lacked comfortable armchairs or sofa, a common failing in holiday cottages. But in all other respects, satisfactory. It makes a very convenient touring base for this region of Scotland and a decent Waitrose shop half a mile away, makes life easy."

"We were disappointed that there was no welcome package and a few basic supplies were missing. However, the owner was very helpful and we were warm and cosy while the weather was bad!"

"This cottage is in a beautiful location no doubt about that. But I am sorry to say that the comfort factor is not good at all. The sofa in the living room was very uncomfortable with the casters broke making it uneven. Also after a tiring day out sightseeing you want to be able to relax but with the sofa having a low back that is impossible. Also the two chairs in the room are low backed bucket chairs which are extremely uncomfortable. I think that the dining table and chairs are too big for the room and take up too much room and look out of place. The tv is very small and the tv in the bedroom is neither use nor ornament. Our biggest disappointment however was that the cleanliness was not up to scratch as when we arrived we had to hoover all round the carpet edges in the cottage as we noticed many dead woodlice around the edges. There was seventeen dead woodlice under the tv cabinet and more under the sofa. All in all there was close to a hundred that we hovered up. Also the woodlice were getting in through the badly fitted patio door and we had to go to Dumbarton to buy some woodlice killer. Also the toilet in the main bathroom was leaking slightly and all around the toilet basin was always damp. The curtain next to the wardrobe was closed and when we looked behind it, it looked like the window and frame had not been cleaned for years. I am sorry to have to post these comments and I am sure that the owner who is a really nice man is unaware of these issues as he probably lets his cleaner get on with it and does not check the work. I am sure that the owners would not stay in the cottage themselves for more than one night before making the desired changes."
