About this property

A charming detached traditional seaside cottage with some lovely sea views, in the popular Moray Firth village of Gardenstown. This cottage has been stylishly refurbished throughout and is only yards from the seafront, tucked down a quiet alley. The welcoming cottage sitting room with a decorative stove is comfortable and leads through to a fully fitted kitchen with breakfast area. Two comfy bedrooms, a double with sea views and a twin, complete the accommodation. To the rear and up seven steps is a seated terrace area with views over the bay and cliffs, a perfect place to relax and soak up the tranquil atmosphere around this charming cottage. It is only a short walk to the traditional harbour and wide expanse of beach and cliffs, while a short stroll through the village streets, brings you to a collection of galleries, craft workshops, shops, a restaurant and a tea room. Head to Banff, the smugglers' village of Pennan, go dolphin spotting on the Firth then return to your cottage. An ideal Scottish base.

The village of Gardenstown was founded in 1720 as a fishing village. Gardenstown borders a small bay with stunning scenery flanking both sides. The neighbouring village of Banff boasts a relaxing sandy beach and Duff House, an impressive Georgian mansion open to visitors and home to paintings and artefacts from the National Galleries of Scotland. Banff also has a good selection of shops, restaurants and hotels which serve a fine selection of local sea foods.
