Resting on the banks of the River Dee, the village of Ballater is a centre for tourism and has much to offer visitors in the area, mostly because of its location in the Cairngorms National Park and its close proximity to Balmoral Castle. This village has a lovely village green, specialist shops, tea rooms and granite cottages. There is walking opportunities all around the area, as well as outdoor activities such as cycling, golf, skiing and wildlife excursions.
