About this property

York 4 miles. Dragons' Den is the opposite of what you might imagine and in reality is a light filled, beautifully furnished and very comfortable retreat in this most perfect of locations, four miles from the centre of York. This cottage is an annexe to the owner's home and is a perfect property for exploring the myriad of activities in the fine city of York, and is easily accessible for the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Yorkshire's magnificent coastline. Dragons’ Den offers flexible accommodation for two guests in the form of a king-size double bed which can be made up as a twin room if required. The stunning bathroom could have jumped out of a magazine and as you would expect, it offers every comfort imaginable. For cosy evenings, entertaining and just relaxing after a fun day out, the open plan living area is a dream. The conservatory provides another sitting area with French doors leading to the patio or for cooler evenings there is the benefit of a feature fire. Bettys tea rooms is a must when visiting York, with its quaint traditional decor and just a stone's throw from the York Minster, you simply have to stop and have a cup of Yorkshire tea and a delicious cake or two. Every visit to York reveals something new and exciting as throughout the year there is a programme to suit everyone, with interesting exhibitions, exciting horse racing, a wealth of music and theatre, Dickensian markets and scary ghost walks all on offer. The property is conveniently located on a bus route so if you fancy a day out with a difference, there is a bus providing a door-to-door service to Whitby, crossing the stunning North York Moors. In the other direction a trip into Leeds is highly recommended with an excellent shopping experience and for history buffs there is the Armouries Museum. You will be spoilt for choice at this lovely retreat any time of the year.

The city of York needs no recommendation, for it teems with interest for the holidaymaker: the Minster, medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, York Races, museums (including the famous National Railway Museum and the Castle Museum), and the internationally-renowned Jorvik Viking Centre and its "time trip" experience.
