About this property

Nestled in an enviable location, with views over towards the National Trust's Roseberry Topping, where you can explore many bridleways and cycle routes, is Plum Cottage. Ideally suited to families and groups of friends, this Yorkshire getaway rests just outside the market town of Guisborough, in the quiet hamlet of Pinchinthorpe. The interior boasts a wonderful social space in the kitchen, perfect for foodie feasts around the dining table or enjoying a morning coffee at the breakfast bar. The modern units and large range cooker only add to the appeal of this room, which can be accessed from two sides. After dinner, head into the spacious living room and wrap yourselves around the warmth of the wood burning stove, which comes with a handy basket of logs to get your fire ablaze. The ground floor double bedroom with en-suite walk-in shower room is ideal for those travelling with grandparents or those who shy away from climbing stairs. There is also a family room on this floor, playing host to a king-size double and a pull-out Trundel bed which can sleep two singles. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms and a glossy family bathroom. The Court Yard garden is fully enclosed, making it safe for the kids to run around with the dog, while you enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple in the courtyard patio. The property is located on extensive grounds, surrounded by woodlands. Please note there is a moat and care should be taken with children. The moat is not suitable for swimming. Dogs should be kept on a lead in this area, as there are other animals in the surrounding fields. A half mile drive away is the Kings Head pub, and a further mile away is Great Ayton with an array of village shops, an excellent butchers, coffee shops and pubs. An interesting fact is that Captain Cook attended school here as a child.

Guisborough offers plenty more amenities to suit, including independent shops, twice-weekly market, pubs and an array of eateries, not forgetting the flourishing Guisborough Forest, hosting a myriad of thriving wildlife habitats. A little further away is Stokesley, an attractive market town with a variety of pubs, restaurants with take-away options. There are many more walking trails to challenge the avid walker, including The Cleveland Way and the Tees Link, though Roseberry Topping is well worth a climb to see breath-taking vistas from its peak. You can also spend a day or two travelling along the eastern coastline, with the historic town of Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough to explore.

A glorious break in the heart of North Yorkshire.

Guisborough is a small market town in the North York Moors National Park. Standing in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, its boasts famous ruins of the beautiful Guisborough Priory.

The cleanliness is 5star with space for everyone to feel comfortable. My only issue which needs attending to is the dining chairs. At least three of them are about to give way and could cause someone to be hurt. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The cottage is really something special with a large garden great for our grandchildren to run around and very private .Lots of space inside and all comfy and clean and would definitely go again for longer next time we didn’t want to leave . Many Thanks Anne &Family

Great spacious accommodation, full of original features and charm. Easily and comfortably accommodated 10 adults. Loved the conservatory. A big thankyou to Michelle for speedily securing access to it when a key was not present. We know this area very well and the cottage is perfectly situated to make the most of this beautiful area. The outside spaces are large and could be stunning with a tidy up, plants and lawn overgrown but a minor detail . Totally recommend plum cottage for any large group ⭐️
