About this property

With arguably one of the best panoramic views in Scarborough, spanning the whole coastline from North Bay to the castle, is this fifth-floor Penthouse apartment in a converted Victorian property. This coastal retreat offers a superb base for a family seeking a traditional seaside getaway with the rugged York Moors within striking distance to also explore. Providing stylish accommodation, the open-plan living area features large windows whereby guests can sit with a morning coffee and watch the world go by far beneath them - whether it be joggers along the beach or inshore boats bobbing about on the water. The two bedrooms offer views of a different nature, over the suburban roof tops to Scarborough cricket ground. With all contemporary amenities and a treasured off-road parking space, this penthouse apartment promises to offer unique memories of Scarborough. A ten-minute walk down the hill brings you to the long promenade and seafront, where you can enjoy an easy stroll to the castle. Superb sandy beaches, cafes and seaside stalls have something to offer everyone, while the nearby town centre has an excellent selection of restaurants, shops and tea rooms. Close by is Peasholm Park with its open air theatre and Alpamare water park. Well worth a visit is the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre in the round which features some excellent productions. For those in search of walking and cycling, the 23-mile Cinder Track runs from Scarborough to Whitby, taking in fine views of the coast and countryside, whilst the beautiful scenery of the moors is waiting to be explored. With the outstanding spectacular views, this penthouse apartment is well worth the initial climb up the stairs.

Popular since Victorian times, the vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children. There are a number of child friendly activities and many excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music. Scarborough is a great location for outdoor activities, with golf courses, lovely coastal walks along the Cleveland Way, stunning cycle routes such as the old railway to Whitby, beautiful sailing and championship quality surfing. Add to this all the usual seaside entertainment and bustling promenades located close to the beach and Scarborough is the destination with something for everyone. Ideally situated for touring the coastline and the moors, Scarborough is an ideal base for a fun-filled break.

Just what we wanted. oh & the view was amazing, spent half the break just looking out of the window! Although binoculars are provided I would recommend taking a good pair which we did.

Very cosy and homely with everything needed for a week's stay. We spent a lot of time just enjoying looking at the views, the changing tides and ever fascinating light conditions - a great place for a winter break as plenty to see without even going outside. Short walk down to the beach with nice walk to the many seaside cafes. A 15min walk to the old town and harbour where great fish and chips and "The Lookout" restaurant on old harbour wall is a hidden gem .

What a view - more than made up for the stairs! In Scarborough, the car park space is invaluable too. Absolutely would stay here again.
