    About this property

Scalby 0.7 miles. Nestled between the heritage Coast and national park countryside, Beechwood View is a lovely ground-floor property perfect for hosting a small family or a group of friends looking to explore in North York Moors National Park. Head up the three shallow steps and into the porch to store your walking boots and to hang up your coat, hopefully you won’t be needing it in the warm summer months in Scarborough! If you’re here in the winter months, the sitting room is the perfect place to unwind, fitted with a stove effect electric fire as the feature of the room, kick back and relax with a mug of hot chocolate while you take in the magnificent country views just outside of the window, with a dining room table placed conveniently next to it, it’s a brilliant backdrop for your evening meal. With the kitchen just next door to the sitting room, you won’t have to travel far to get some midnight snacks. Next up is the single bedroom with trundle bed, which is ideal for the kids or couples, with a delightful patio area attached, it’s a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast in the summer heat, there’s even a washing line for you to hang up your sea-soaked towels. The second bedroom is a divine double with ample wardrobe space. Take a walk into the village of Scalby, surrounded by pretty stone cottages and Victorian houses, it’s a picturesque area boasting its own pubs, shops, and café, not forgetting a farmer’s market being held twice a week for you to purchase scrumptious snacks. There are plentiful public footpaths to explore, Raincliffe Woods, Forge Valley along Scalby Beck or north on the disused railway track to Burniston, Cloughton and Ravenscar, all perfect for bringing the dog along. Once you’re at the coast of the resort town of Scarborough, you’ll be astonished by the array of amenities that it offers, there’s truly something for all the family including SEA LIFE; perfectly fitting to the coastal theme, the Japanese-style park and gardens of Peasholm Park, and the beautiful Scarborough Castle; enriched with history and even more beautiful scenery, just to name a few of the favourite attractions. Beechwood View is a marvellous property, whether you’re a small family seeking a seaside retreat, or a group of friends looking for an action-packed adventure, you’re sure to find it here surrounded by the bustling resort town of Scarborough.

The picturesque village of Scalby lies just 2.5 miles from the seaside resort of Scarborough. The village centre, with its stone cottages and Victorian houses, boasts good facilities, with a pub, two local shops, a quaint tea room and a hairdressers. Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful countryside, it makes the perfect place to stay, with numerous public footpaths and the well-known Scalby Beck, which winds its way to the coast. " After reading several average reviews was pleasantly surprised how lovely it was. Stunning views, comfortable and clean. Would definitely rent again. Only negative would be the size of the shower. Very small. "

" It was not cleaned properly when we got there, hair in the drawers and on the bathroom floor and dust everywhere. Smelt of cigarettes. There was no dishwasher and the kettle leaked. Spent most of our time eating out, thoroughly disappointed. "

"Quiet area close to walks. Functionality of the flat is poor for average size people It would suit smaller people better. Only room of decent size is living room."

" The crockery required a full wash as grease on some plates and others not clean. The saucepans were non-stick but had worn down to bare metal. Washing up after porridge and similar was extremely hard work. The TV had FreeSat which we had never used as we use SKY at home. The TV controller had multiple buttons for the normal aerial and freesat. There were no instructions for anything in the flat (apparently due to Covid). There was no aerial on the building and the TV kept asking for a scan but as no aerial it failed. We called and they called owners who were away in Scotland. The owners returned 24 hours later and showed us in 2 secs what to do. There should be laminates of TV control, washing m/c and anything else which could be wiped after let finishes. We enjoyed our holiday after these setbacks apart from the saucepans problem with most meals. The owners were very pleasant and helped us amicably. "
