About this property

The Long Barn is the larger Goathland cottage, and sleeps eight people in four tasteful bedrooms. From the double-height sitting room, large French doors open onto the garden, whilst a cosy woodburner provides a lovely ambience in cooler evenings. A small minstrel's gallery looks down into this charming room, whilst the well-equipped, modern kitchen and dining area also boasts a woodburner - providing a further social area in which to sit and relax, steam trains pass at the bottom of the garden. A superb cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 964011, and together they sleep 12 people.

The idyllic village of Goathland is set on the north eastern edge of the North York Moors National Park. It is surrounded by the rugged open moorlands which provide excellent walking country and on which sheep graze freely. The village has been popularised by the television programme Heartbeat. At the bottom of the village lies the station for the famous North York Moors Steam Railway. Here you may catch a train to nearby Pickering and relax as the train winds its way through the moors.
