Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom retreat sits at the heart of the village, 10 miles from Whitby and within the beautiful North York Moors National Park. The pet-friendly cottage features a wood burner to toast beside on winter evenings and a patio for enjoying the fresh Yorkshire air. It is 0.5 miles from the village’s small, sandy beach and the Cleveland Way coastal path.

Open the front door and enter to find a welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a stylish finish and fresh seaside appeal. Head over to the kitchen to unpack groceries and make a cup of tea to enjoy with the Yorkshire parkin you have bought on your trip out. Settle on the soft seating for a spell to rest your weary feet, discuss your adventures and watch the Smart TV. Lay a fire in the wood burner on chilly days. Gather around the table to dine together and linger for a while over a bottle of wine. There is also a WC downstairs. At the end of each exciting day away together, venture upstairs to the double room which has a TV, or the bunk bedroom – which features a single bunk above a double bed. There is also a family bathroom. Sit out on the patio with your book and a cup of tea on sunny afternoons. Have a glass of fizz outside on warm evenings as the sun goes down.

Lace up your walking boots and follow the coastal path for 3 miles to Runswick Bay. Head inland to find walks through the North York Moors National Park. Plan trips into Whitby to see historic sites, such as the famous abbey, and to browse in independent shops and dine out.
