Set deep in the North York Moors National Park, it has delightful views overlooking the village green, with the local inn just a five minute walk. Full of warmth and character, it offers a welcoming sitting room, with exposed beams and comfortable seating set around the cosy woodburning stove. The dining table is deftly arranged in the window, to take in the glorious vistas, while the separate modern kitchen is well equipped, enabling guests to prepare tasty meals. Upstairs, there is a pretty double bedroom, with a contemporary en-suite shower room. Tastefully furnished in a traditional style, the property has a relaxing feel to come home to after a busy day out exploring. The surrounding area is a walkers’ haven, with footpaths and trails taking you through breathtaking scenery over the open moorlands and secluded valleys. An easy pleasant walk to Danby, brings you to a lovely bakery and tea room, with another country inn, serving good food to sample. Nearby Castleton has excellent village amenities, with a small Co-op, pubs, a hairdressers and tea rooms. A short drive will bring you to the coast, with Saltburn and Whitby offering superb, long sandy beaches and many attractions, while the small fishermen's villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay are always popular for day visits. A wonderful romantic retreat for couples to enjoy a memorable holiday.

Nestled in the beautiful and peaceful Esk Valley in the heart of The North York Moors, the little village of Danby has a lot to offer. With two pubs both of which serve food - a bakery and a tea room, this quaint little settlement is well served by local amenities. Nearby is the excellent National Park Visitor Centre at Danby Lodge, a historic building set within 13 acres of riverside pasture. The lodge also provides facilities for local exhibitions, nature trails and tea rooms. In addition there are also the ruins of a 14th century castle and one of the only working water-mills on the River Esk. Running through the village on its way to Whitby is the Esk Valley Railway, whilst nearby the villages of Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham, as well as the market town of Pickering, offer a variety of amenities not available in Danby itself.
