Luttrell House is a former officer’s barracks built in 1875 as part of the Cardwell Reforms which encouraged the localisation of British military forces. A semi-detached premier holiday home with a hot tub, situated in the Garden Village area of Richmond within a short walk from the centre of this ever popular market town. Guests will feel the character of this cottage the minute you arrive with a beautiful staircase with curved balustrade and the rest of the journey through this holiday home is equally impressive. Attention to detail and great styling in every room. The spacious sitting room has a wonderful open fire, stylish leather Chesterfield suites, a 50” Smart TV and provides a great space to relax and chat amongst friends and family. The well-equipped kitchen is well laid out with plenty of food preparation areas and the added benefit of a cooling pantry, useful utility area and ground floor cloakroom. The main dining area benefits from a cosy woodburning stove and provides a great space for a lovely evening meal. The former Paymasters office provides a games room with pool table, chess table, a well-stocked library, comfortable soft furnishings and a framed picture of the original building layout. Adjoining the games room is a ground floor double bedroom with delightful en-suite facilities. Upstairs, the main bathroom boasts a cast iron freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle. The main bedroom with a super king-size bed is stylish with a freestanding cast iron bath providing that little bit of extra luxury. Three further bedrooms, one with beautifully stylish en-suite facilities ensure that most groups are well catered for and will have a peaceful night’s sleep. Outside, there is a fully enclosed courtyard garden with a welcoming seven seater hot tub, ideal for relaxing with a glass of fizz at the end of a busy day discovering nearby Swaledale. The nearby old town centre has a huge cobbled town square surrounded by shops, pubs, cafes, tearooms and restaurants, and with a weekly market too there is plenty on offer for all tastes. The area has something for everyone along with an outstanding holiday providing a perfect combination for a memorable holiday.

Situated at the entrance to Swaledale, the market town of Richmond stands on a prominent hilltop site to the north of the River Swale. The town grew up around its castle, famously situated high above the river. Today there are wonderful walks to be enjoyed such as the Castle Walk - a dramatic terrace walk beneath the castle walls - or alternatively walk alongside the River Swale where there are parks, safe paddling areas and small waterfalls to enjoy. Within the town, narrow streets and alleys radiate from the cobbled Market Place (which has a weekly market and monthly farmers’ market) and there are numerous shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy.
