Hunton is a small picturesque village boasting a friendly local pub. The Countryman's Inn, serving local ales and as the name suggests, conveniently situated next to the cottage. A short stroll will take you to the local play area, ideal for the children to run off any excess energy. A short six mile drive from Hunton you will find the popular Richmond with its 11th century castle and cobbled streets, described by some as the jewel in the crown of the Yorkshire Dales! Within easy reach are the market towns of Barnard Castle, Leyburn and Hawes, there are also a fine choice of activities and places to visit nearby, including spending a day at the beautiful Fountain's and Jervaulx Abbey. From Hunton, there is a golf course less than a mile away and the area boasts many excellent restaurants and award winning pubs. Nearby attractions include Fountains Abbey, Beamish and Lightwater Valley. The nearest town, Leyburn is dominated by its large market square, which still boasts a lively Friday market. The town has much to offer with its many craft shops, galleries and tea rooms. The Georgian town of Richmond is also not to be missed.
