We were disappointed to have to clean the fridge surround of black mould and wipe down the shelves before putting our food in. It was also severely iced up at the back. The heating was a major problem coming on at 6am and going off at 10am not coming back on until 4pm and going off at 10 pm. During dark winter months I feel there should be more flexibility. Being on holiday and advertised as having centralheating we did not feel inclined to have to buy wood every day for a wood burner which was only in the dining room. And then have to clean it out every dayThe saving grace was the electric fire in the lounge. Which would seem like false economy as that was needed to boost the heat in the lounge as the radiators never felt to get really hot. Overall a lovely cottage but the way the central heating radiators were not terribly efficient maybe for us not for winter months.

The town of Hawes is very attractive with interesting shops, restaurants, pubs and the famous Creamery. It is the ideal place for many enjoyable walks. Bridge House is much bigger than it looks from the outside. It has everything you could possibly want for a great holiday. It is Spacious, spotlessly clean, modern kitchen, Sky, WiFi and excellent heating which makes it warm and cosy. Parking is right outside in the courtyard for one car and free parking for a second car just 100 yards away. There is just one word to describe Bridge House – perfect!

It is extremely comfortable, well equipped and in an excellent location in the town being literally yards from the High Street where you are spoiled for choice of quality eating places. An excellent location for walks from the door, or just a short drive away, and for wonderful scenic drives. The dedicated parking space is a real bonus. Overall Bridge House and Hawes combine to be a superb package.
