Standards have definitely dropped since our last visit a year ago.

Location is amazing. Lodges are ok but some aspects ‘tired’, little things like the back of remote controls missing for the tv, the sofas way to small (can’t lay out on them at the end of a long day walking and exploring!) and ours had quite worn fabric in places, the kitchen bin was broken (lid detached), place mats had seen better days, the walls in needs of a wipe down, the kitchen blind very dirty as was the shower hose/shower head. The swings were missing in the play area too which was a shame.Sounds nit-picky but for the price I expect things like this to be better. Just a shame when there is the potential for things to be vastly better with just small changes or improvements. We had noisey neighbours the first two nights which is just inconsiderate (drunken shouting whilst out in the hot tub until gone 11pm). The hot tub was good - well maintained and clean. Reception and site staff were nice, and a pint of milk and bread loaf included on arrival. All in all the outstanding location makes up for the lodge’s shortfalls. I will go back but would want to try get a better deal and pay less knowing what standard to expect.

Not easy access to the hot tub. This needs to be safer.
