About this property

Complimentary Welcome Hamper

A complimentary welcome hamper will be awaiting you on your arrival containing milk, tea, fresh coffee, bread, butter, eggs, juice, wine and cheese, along with other essential items to prepare a light snack or breakfast. There may be some regional variations.

Converted into a three bedroomed, two bathroomed dwelling in 1985, Wesley House, an old Wesleyan Chapel was built in 1899 and boasts many original features such as its gothic doors and windows, beams, wooden floors and panelling. In 2014, the current owners lovingly modernised the property with the addition of an orangery complete with open fire.

The village of Marton-le-Moor is a quiet, rural village just 5 minutes from the A1 and A19, equidistant to the Yorkshire Moors and Dales. The small, ancient town of Boroughbridge and the fabulous cathedral city of Ripon are both just 10 minutes away. A few minutes further are Thirsk and Harrogate.

Beautiful house, fully equipped. Pity one of the showers was leaking so we could only use one bathroom with 6p is a little crowded. Quick and understanding response from the caretaker service though. The house is rather far from supermarket/shops.

Beautiful house in pristine condition. Probably the best equipped kitchen we have ever had. Lovely, well-tended garden with good quality proper garden furniture.

The house was beautifully and tastefully decorated and everything was of the highest standard. We did, however, encounter a few problems:- no warning was given about the spiral staircase, which proved difficult for my disabled son. Elderly visitors and young children could also find it a problem.- there should be an extra (higher) bannister for safety at the top of the stairs just as you turn into the twin bedded room. Coming out of this bedroom, particularly in the dark, could prove dangerous.- a hook on the back of the door to the small en suite bathroom would have provided a place to hang a towel.- there was no microwave in the otherwise well stocked kitchen. When on holiday not everyone wants to have to cook everything from scratch.- we realise that this is not just a holiday let but we didn't appreciate the family's fox tails and stags heads on show.Otherwise it is a wonderful home and we loved staying there.
