Helmsley 7 miles.
A traditional, stone-built, semi-detached cottage, adjoining the owners' property on their working livestock farm near Old Byland, seven miles from the delightful market town of Helmsley. Set in a peaceful location within the National Park, Wethercote Cottage has far reaching views across the North York Moors. Very well equipped. Lovely views of the countryside and animals from every window. Free to wander chickens greeted us every morning out of our kitchen window along with fresh eggs available every morning. Loved it so much we have booked again for a week in April.

The beds are very comfortable The location is perfect Nice and warm However If your dog doesn't like cats it's not the property for you.we couldn't spend any time outside as the cat was always outside the cottage. The bathroom needs a complete refit. Shower curtains inn 2024!?! It should be highlighted that the beams are very low. Finally we knew it was a 9.00 departure which except for during Covid is now unusual and harsh but to receive a text the night before we left not only reminding us but also underlining it. I may be elderly but I'm not senile. Very rude! Needles to say we won't be returning.
