"Our second visit to Lark Rise and just rebooked for 2020. Cottage is like ‘Home from Home’, we cannot fault it! A very enjoyable and relaxing stay with our two doggies."
    Alan ‐ 14 Aug 2019
"This is a fabulous cottage in a lovely village, surrounded by numerous walks in the moors, just what we were looking for with our two doggies! The hosts Micheal and Ena are a delight, very accommodating and close at hand!We hope to return next year and would recommend this cottage highly for anyone looking for peace and tranquility!"

"We enjoyed a wonderful five days at ‘Lark Rise’. The cottage was extremely well equipped and the welcome tray, with fresh free-range eggs, home made flap jacks, tea, coffee, milk and sugar - even ‘sweeteners’, was much appreciated. Our grand daughter enjoyed an hour ‘s horse riding, from the near by pony trekking centre. We loved being in this delightful location.Everything about the property was very pleasing."

"Beautiful cottage and a beautiful area, we couldn't have asked for a better visit. The moors are tranquil and relaxing for great walks and cycling routes. Our doggos loved the walks and the paddock where they burnt off some steam in the mornings. With the lovely town of Thirsk 10 minutes away, shops and restaurants were easily accessible and very good. We loved our say at Lark Rise and the hosts are very friendly, they made us flapjacks! We would recommend visiting: Runswick bay, fountains abbey, Castle Howard, Whitby, Rievaulx abbey/ terrace (which is very close to the cottage), Helmsley."

"We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Hosts were very welcoming and had pre-stocked all basics (eggs, milk, tea, coffee) to start the holiday and the flapjacks were just very delicious. Would definitely recommend and would visit again."

"Great place to visit. Michael and Ena are welcoming hosts and have equipped the cottage to cover all needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday."
    Nicci ‐ 25 Jun 2019
"A little piece of heaven. The most relaxing holiday ever. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and tranquil. The only sound at night is the owl hooting. Day time the national park is on the doorstep for hours of mountain biking or walking if one prefers. A simply great place to get away from it all. The property is fantastic with all the amenities there. Ena and Michael very welcoming and great hosts."

"An immaculate cottage in a stunning location, Lark Rise was a perfect base for exploring the eastern side of the North York Moors National Park. 30 acres of land on the property to roam in meant the early morning dog exercise was delightful and our lovely hosts, Michael and Ena, could not have been more welcoming. Thirsk is a delightful town and had all the necessities, and there are a number of attractions within easy striking distance. Boltby Forest is right on the doorstep and provides excellent local walking with the Cleveland Way also very close. Highly recommended."

"Very nice property, owners very helpful in every aspect, would go again, village very picturesque and quite.good walking place"
    Penny ‐ 8 Jun 2019
"Lovely comfortable cottage in a very pretty village. Some lovely walks on the doorstep but you need to drive a few miles to visit anything else, however we like the tranquility of a quiet village so wasn't a problem for us and we knew what to expect. The garden was a big disappointment and not suitable for our small dog as it was very stoney and small. There is a reason there are no pictures of it on the website, also the owners cottage is very close and they overlook the garden and you can see into each other's lounges. We were also told on arrival that we could only use the track down to the (fenced off) stream at the end of the property. They were growing hay so the 30 acres of land were out of bounds! Still had a lovely holiday in a beautiful part of the country. Ena's flapjacks were amazing."
    Owen ‐ 27 May 2019
"We very much enjoyed our stay at Lark Rise. Boltby is a beautiful small village with incredible local scenery and walks. The cottage it self was homely, clean and spacious and in keeping with its lovely location. Local amenities were a short drive away in Thirsk, where you could get everything you need. The road networks allowed for the exploring of the local area and further afield to the Dales remarkably easy. We would highly recommend staying at Lark Rise."
    Catherine ‐ 20 May 2019
"The cottage had everything you need. It was just like a home from home. We loved the village feel of Boltby. Just wish we could have stayed longer!"
    David ‐ 13 May 2019
"A great cottage which was very comfortable and clean."
    Jane ‐ 3 May 2019
"A lovely cottage in a pretty village. Had everything we needed. Beautiful decor and furnishings. Dog gate and shower in stable both very useful. Lovely grounds to walk in. Welcoming and helpful owners."
