My husband and I took both our Mum’s away for a break. We were all impressed with the quality, comfort and cleanliness of the property. It’s been decorated and maintained at a very high standard. Ed and James were really friendly and my MIL loved meeting the Alpacas with my husband. The property was lovely and warm and welcoming after days out and the location couldn’t be better if you wanted to see everything Yorkshire has to offer. We really recommend the World of James Herriot in Thirsk. Was totally wheelchair friendly and the staff were so knowledgeable. We also visited the Wensleydale Creamery in the Dales and took the Cheesemaking tour which was fab. Whitby is also easy to get to from the property through the North York moors and “Heartbeat” country where you’ll find Goathland aka “Aidensfield” Absolutely fabulous week!

The cottage was exceptionally clean and had anything we needed, especially for over the Christmas period & making Christmas lunch. I would highly recommend The Granary! We've already booked to return

The owners were friendly and helpful. We took many day trips to the local area, notably Helmsley, Thirsk, Redcar, York and Pickering. Sutton Bank was a lovely place for a walk, good cafe and children's play area. The cottage was clean, well equipped and warm. The upstairs shower was difficult to get to the correct temperature but a minor point! The shared utility space was great with refills for toilet roll and kitchen roll. Would highly recommend.
