About this property

1 Belle Vue is a delightful double-fronted period cottage. Originally two cottages and a dovecote it is now an exceptionally pretty honeyed sandstone cottage with a pantile roof. Within a short stroll of the quaint village of Osmotherley on the western edge of the North York Moors National Park this cottage is a perfect choice. A quintessentially English cottage dating back some 200 years, this cottage is charming throughout and is decorated in a classic country style enhancing the character. The master bedroom offers a super king size bed with an en-suite shower room to create a perfect base on the ground floor. There are two further bedrooms on the first floor one of which has French doors leading onto the upper garden and the third bedroom has a king-size bed with a window seat taking in the lovely views of the Hambleton Hills. The sitting room is such a cosy room with the woodburning stove at the very heart of the cottage. Every comfort is catered for here from the two bathrooms, the woodburning stove, the secure bike store, to the lovely garden. The garden has been cleverly planned to create various areas, all taking in the delightful views over the Hambleton Hills, the Vale of York and Arncliffe Woods. You can while away the time sitting on one of the window seats watching the world go by, particularly walkers on one of the long distance walks which pass by here. Osmotherley is a perfect choice for exploring this beautiful area whether your choice is walking, fishing, touring or just enjoying the beauty all around.

A picturesque North Yorkshire village, with grass and tree lined streets set on a small hillside on the western edge of the North York Moors National Park, nestling between the Hambleton Hills to the east and the Yorkshire Dales to the west. Osmotherley, a conservation village is situated on the routes of the 110 mile Cleveland Way National Trail and the Coast-to-Coast walk, and it’s also the start (or finish!) of the famous Lykewake Walk. Osmotherley offers stone built houses, an old village cross, three pubs, a general store and a handful of village shops including a fish and chip shop.

We were gifted a welcome pack upon arrival and the owners were immediately on hand for any queries that arose. Easy walk to the village centre. We would definitely recommend this cottage to others.

A nice little touch with a lovely victoria sandwich cake & some fresh eggs. Set on the edge of a gorgeous village. It was very spacious with lovely comfy beds. Even the water pressure was great for a good shower. We will definitely be returning in the near future. THANK YOU

The owner made us very welcome with cake and eggs and we were reassured that she lives locally and would be on hand to sort out any problems. The cottage is around 10 mins walk from the centre of the village, we recommend the Golden Lion for great food and atmosphere - but book a table in advance - , also the local chip shop which is under new ownership. Being just 5 minutes off the A19 the cottage is really handy for Thirsk, Northallerton, Wensleydale, the Moors etc. But as it was getting dark by 4pm it was really good to have somewhere cosy to come back to. Our only disappointment (not the owner's responsibility!!) was that the weather was too mild for the log fire, which we never lit!! Would recommend this property and would love to go back in the summer to take advantage of the outside seating areas.
