and cycling opportunities close by. For a great day out, the superb city of York is just 17 miles away, with its impressive Minster, medieval walls, internationally-renowned Jorvik Viking Centre and a plentiful selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The beautiful North York Moors, Dales and east coast resorts are also all within touring distance, making this an ideal base from which to enjoy a well-earned break in lovely surroundings.

The small historic village of Husthwaite lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, overlooking the Vale of York. Picturesque and peaceful, the village is a perfect introduction to "Herriot Country", and boasts a pub, a beautiful old Norman church and many fine old houses.
