The market town of Skipton is located at the southern end of the Yorkshire Dales and known locally as the Gateway to the Dales. With its medieval castle, ancient inns, churches, museum, restaurants, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal combined with modern shops there is plenty to keep you occupied exploring the town. The Dalesway cycle path starts and ends in Skipton and is 130 miles of safe way of seeing the best the Dales has to offer. Located on the A65 which leads to the Lake District is easily accessible as is a day sightseeing in York or shopping in Leeds.
