Guests enjoyed the beautiful walks, the well-maintained and spacious accommodation, and the farm setting. Some concerns were raised about the driveway condition and the adequacy of cooking facilities for large groups.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property consistently receives high commendations for its spotless condition and well-maintained appearance, indicating meticulous attention to cleanliness.

The cottage's location is celebrated for its lovely views and proximity to local attractions, although the access road's condition has been noted as an area for improvement.

Overall, guests find the cottage comfortable, especially praising the underfloor heating and spacious bedrooms. However, some guests mentioned that certain beds were hard and the dining chairs were noisy on the stone floor.

The property is well-equipped, with modern amenities and ample space. Criticisms include the need for larger cooking facilities and minor maintenance issues, such as the driveway and the need for additional kitchenware for larger groups.

While the reviews reflect positively on the hosts' responsiveness and helpfulness, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness. Therefore, this score cannot be provided.

About this property

Chapel-le-Dale 1.6 miles. This delightful semi-detached barn conversion is surrounded by its own fields in dramatic open countryside, on the owner's working livestock farm near Chapel-le-Dale. Set in a most enviable location in the valley between Ingleborough and Whernside, this lovely cottage provides an ideal location to get away from it all and unwind with family and friends. Fully renovated, this attractive holiday home enjoys a beautiful hillside location with breathtaking views from every room in the house, including exceptional views of the limestone scarring, so evident in this corner of the Yorkshire Dales. Individually styled to make the very best of the existing features of old beams and exposed stonework, there is also a liberal sprinkling of the modern luxuries, such as underfloor heating, walk-in showers and en-suites to all bedrooms. The ground floor kitchen with dining area is a real delight with great views across the meadows and the grazing stock, plus the odd hen. There is a spacious dining area, a modern well-equipped kitchen and a woodburner. The sitting room has ample seating, a flat screen TV, and is a great place to recover after a testing day out on the Three Peaks Challenge. The first floor boasts two double bedrooms, and a third double-height room with a king-size double bedroom and twin beds on a mezzanine floor, and en-suite with shower and bath. One of the double bedrooms also has a Juliet balcony to enjoy the views towards Ingleborough. The top floor has a spacious family room with four single beds and an en-suite shower, an ideal room for the kids to get together and enjoy a little privacy. Outside this lovely cottage are open fields that belong to the property where you can sit, wander, barbecue or laze by the river that runs through the land; relax with a refreshing drink or dine alfresco. Nearby Ingleton offers an excellent range of amenities, including pubs, shops and restaurants, whilst walkers are spoilt for choice with the excellent network of trails in the area. The famous Settle-Carlisle railway line runs across the nearby Ribblehead Viaduct and there is no greater sight than a steam train powering its way across the landscape. Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale and Skipton are all within a short drive, whilst the Forest of Bowland offers a wide range of unspoilt landscapes and visitor facilities. A great location for family and friends to meet up and enjoy country living at its very best!

Situated in the heart of the famous Three Peaks, Chapel-le-Dale is a small hamlet consisting of the Ribblehead Viaduct, a railway station, a famous pub and a scattering of small farms and dwellings. The famous Settle to Carlisle Railway passes through the hamlet and has some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. The Ribblehead Viaduct, completed in 1870 is a magnificent structure and the sight of a steam train passing across the top is one not to be missed. The attractive village of Ingleton offers a good range of shops, pubs and places to eat. The centre of the village is pretty with narrow and winding streets, centered on a tiny market place. The village's well known White Scar Caves (a mile outside the village on the Hawes road) are open to the public and have a dazzling display of stalactites and stalagmites, caverns and a huge underground lake.

The house is lovely, with beautiful views out of every single window. The pictures don’t do it justice! Great to be able to do plenty of walks from the front door too!

Three families all together for a week and we had plenty of space and privacy. The en suite bathrooms were a great size and the bedrooms had plenty of space for everyone. The dining area was much more spacious than the photographs made it appear. We had five children aged from 7 - 15 years and they all played outside and had ample space in the large shared bedroom upstairs for sleeping and keeping them entertained. Only three used it as a bedroom but it would have been equally as comfortable with four occupants. The kitchen was well stocked but, as other reviews mentioned, the cooking facilities (oven and hob) would have benefitted from being larger (double oven, separate grill etc) to more easily cater for a party of twelve. We were only ten and we had to get creative with dinners. We fed the children first most evenings before cooking again for the adults to make it work. The owners next door were very helpful regarding a tea spillage and feedback about a small maintenance issue. We would highly recommend the property for a large group based on all of the above and the location being excellent. The driveway down was bumpy but to be expected on a working farm with agricultural traffic using it.

Opportunities to enjoy numerous walks direct from the cottage. Judith was really responsive when we had any queries. Spotlessly clean.
