About this property

A lovely first floor wing of the owner's detached home set in its own grounds, on a quiet country lane between the small village of Giggleswick and the market town of Settle. Situated in a beautiful location with outstanding views of the surrounding countryside, this apartment makes a fantastic base for a couple as it is just a ten minute walk from the old market town of Settle and a short walk into Giggleswick village. Set out over the first floor, the accommodation is contemporary and is accessed via an external staircase from the owner's pretty garden. The spacious open plan living area has a lovely sitting area looking out towards the excellent views where you can relax after spending the day exploring. A first-class bespoke kitchen, useful office area and a small dining area complete this room. To the rear is a nicely laid out double bedroom with lots of storage space and a modern bathroom with rainfall shower. Settle railway station is just a fifteen minute walk giving guests access to the renowned Settle-to-Carlisle railway line, stopping off at the likes of Skipton, Ribblehead, Dent and Appleby; a railway journey not to be missed. This old village is a real delight, very friendly and full of characters one would expect to find in this corner of the Yorkshire Dales.

This delightful Ribblesdale village lies below a limestone scar (part of the Craven fault) and just across the river from the bustling market town of Settle. It’s an incredibly pretty place with sturdy houses and cottages, many dating back to the 17th century as the ‘date stones’ over their doorways will confirm. Today the village is still centred around the beautiful St Alkelda’s church, which dates back to the 12th century and the well-known landmark of the domed chapel at the famous Giggleswick School, which dominates the village skyline.
