About this property

A first-class, stone-built, semi-detached cottage, set by a lovely beck in the small hamlet of Oughtershaw, in the very heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Full of immense character and charm, this is a delightful cottage and is ideal for getting away from it all and enjoying this remote, wild and rugged corner of the Dales, whatever the time of year. The cottage features a beautiful, contemporary dining kitchen and, with its multi-fuel stove, is a perfect place to relax with family and friends whilst enjoying a meal and a glass of wine. The sitting room, with a second multi-fuel stove, provides a great place to relax with modern contemporary styling seamlessly combining with the lovely old features, including the wonderful beamed ceiling, latched doors and the flagstone flooring. For a quiet moment, the snug is an ideal place to relax and with patio doors leading out to the garden this completes the ground floor layout. The master bedroom, with modern en-suite facility, contains a stylish wrought iron double bed with beautiful bed linen and is perfect for enjoying a relaxing sleep after a day out in the Dales. The twin bedroom is nicely styled and has pretty views over the back garden and the beck and there is also a family bathroom. The south-facing rear garden is enclosed by a dry stone wall and the gate at the bottom of the garden leads down to the beck. The patio is perfect for soaking up the sun, listening to the birds, watching the sheep on the hillside and generally relaxing with friends and family. Set in a quiet rural hamlet, this peaceful cottage is perfect to get away from it all and enjoy a family break or an ideal location for that much awaited romantic break. A truly rural location, with wonderful walks from the doorstep and just a short drive to a good selection of traditional old pubs and award-winning gastropubs, makes this a holiday cottage not to be missed.

Located at the foot of Buckden Pike, and close to the head of Upper Wharfedale, the idyllic village of Buckden is the perfect place to start exploring the wonderful scenery and pretty towns of this magnificent Dale. Much of Upper Wharfedale is owned by the National Trust and is composed of dry-stone walls and barns, important flower-rich hay meadows and valleyside woodland. Renowned for its walking routes, this region is home to the famous Dales Way, which passes close to Buckden Pike. The village itself is comprised of a cluster of stone built cottages and houses set around a traditional green. The village is also home to the famous 'Buck Inn' - a Georgian coaching pub that retains much of its old charm.
