About this property

Surrounded by rolling green countryside and positioned down its very own private driveway, just above the Pennine Hills' village of Cowling, is Beaushaw Well Farm built in 1635 with Meadow Cottage accompanying it as one of the recently converted out buildings. Set amongst a collection of two converted barns and a farmhouse, the location is splendid and peaceful with the only neighbours being the owner's family. It is the ideal base for a family holiday or a countryside break with friends. Make yourselves right at home in the bright and spacious lounge, with the warmth from the gas stove keeping you toasty as you enjoy a game of cards at the coffee table or tune into the TV. French doors lead out to the sunny patio, which you can open up on a warm day and allow a fresh breeze to circulate this beautiful open space, inviting the outdoors in. The farmhouse-style kitchen is well-equipped, playing host to a lovely set of base and wall units, with a lovely dining area tucked into the corner, so you can get together for home-cooked meals. There is also a a handy utility room housing a washing machine, so you can keep on top of your laundry if need be. Lastly, the ground floor plays host to a family shower room, with a large walk-in shower cubicle and a twin bedroom, which is ideal for the kids. Climb the staircase to find the master bedroom enjoying a super king-size double bed, dresser, wardrobe and two bedside tables with lamps for reading, while the French doors to the Juliet balcony frame offer wonderful views of the fields. Outside, you can take in more of the tremendous outlook with a spot of alfresco dining and a refreshing glass of wine, while the village of Cowling plays host to a local pub nearby should you wish to venture out. You also have the market town of Skipton within easy reach, known as the 'Gateway to the Dales', with its ancient castle and colourful market displayed on its cobbled streets. Try out an array of outdoor activities in the local area including swimming, golf, tennis and abundant walking trails. This is just the getaway you have been looking for.

The village of Cowling sits across a hillside in the Pennine Hills, just seven miles from the market town of Skipton and hosts a pub, shops and a village hall. Skipton however, boasts an ancient castle open to the public, an old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the one mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short distance away.

Cottage and location beautiful. Owners were lovely. Would definitely recommend and book again. Little gem of Yorkshire loveliness.

Despite the weather being rather foul, the cottage is so warm and comfortable it doesn’t matter (and the views are lovely whatever the weather)! The cottage is well appointed and Derek and Joan are on hand and very friendly and helpful. Our visit this time was to visit friends and family but there are lots of lovely places to visit if holidaying in the area (including Haworth, the steam railway, Wycoller Park, Hebden Bridge and further afield Skipton and the Dales). Would not hesitate in recommending, we had a lovely stay.
