About this property

A beautiful, stone-built end of terrace cottage located just a few hundred yards from the railway station on the outskirts of the pretty village of Clapham. The cottage is set in a delightful position overlooking the nearby meadows, and out towards the famous Three Peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent. Full of character and charm, it provides an excellent getaway for a couple or small family wishing to explore this popular area. The cottage features a spacious kitchen/diner with modern shaker-style fittings and a centre island, making it a great room to relax and prepare sumptuous evening meals. There is handy storage space under the stairs, and the cosy sitting room is stylish and leads through to a pretty rear garden, an ideal spot to sit out and watch the world go by. The two bedrooms are comfortable and modern, one with a king-size bed and one a delightful twin bedroom, both served by a family bathroom where you can enjoy a revitalising soak in the tub after a day of walking. With the stunning Dales landscapes right on your doorstep, October Cottage is a great place to relax and enjoy country living, with the opportunity of riding the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway, which is just a short drive away. The busy village of Clapham is a 20-minute walk away, and Settle, Leeds, Skipton, Ribblehead, Dent, Garsdale and Appleby can easily be reached in the car or the railway line. The cycling and walking opportunities are endless and there are a number of country pubs and award-winning restaurants all within a short distance. The local farm shop is also just a mile away, selling organic vegetables and local produce, and also has a coffee shop. Beds not made or cleaned. The cottage itself is basic and in need of a deep clean and revamp. Cutlery was basic and small, the pans are all marked from excessive wear, oven trays greasy. Tie backs on kitchen curtains had one missing. The decor is dark which makes the cottage appear very dark and required more downstairs lamps. The bathroom had black mould round the bath and the seat on the toilet is really stained. The bath towels are small white ones which are very passed it and the bedding sheets washed out and poor. The people who live here are lovely, very friendly and helpful. This is a lovely positioned cottage in a good area for exploring what a shame it is not presented for guests to enjoy to it's full capacity. Attention to detail really counts in holiday let's.

It was very clean and well presented. The neighbours are really friendly and we will definitely come back to visit the area and hopefully stay in October Cottage. There are many walks and facilities nearby, and a lovely pub and restaurant within walking distance. All in all, it’s a great place for the serious walkers , families and just to wind down. A real gem of a find

Very dog friendly with no frills so you don’t have to worry about taking a pet. The cottage has everything you require. Situated in a very peaceful location in a beautiful village with fantastic scenery. Close to the railway station so you can hop on a train to Skipton or Morecambe. The Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland and the Lake District are all within easy reach. Friendly neighbours on hand if you need any local information. Thank you for a lovely stay!
